What made you start a blog?

I started my blog after I had been out of school for over a year and realised I hadn't sat down and written anything substantial since then. I missed writing. I also needed another passion in my life that I had complete control over. Something that was mine and mine alone. I could take credit and responsibility for its growth and success, or lack of. I started my blog as an outlet.

What is your blog about?

The first thing I thought to write about was Beauty as I was really getting into makeup and skincare. Then some Lifestyle posts made their way in there as I love promoting positivity. And then, I decided I wanted to write some posts to help other bloggers out using the knowledge I gained through my own experience of blogging.

What are your favourite blog posts to write?

I love writing posts that aren't straight up reviews - evergreen posts if you like. I will always try to think of posts like that rather than writing pure reviews if possible. They're just more engaging and enjoyable to write, even if I include a review in the post too! I love collaborating with other people and bloggers in posts, it's so great to promote other blogs and make solid relationships.

What are your tips on starting a blog?

I would say just start. Sign up, write a post, publish it, connect with other bloggers on Twitter. Twitter is an amazing place to network - definitely use it to share your posts and check out other peoples!

Were you scared about starting a blog?

And what would say to people who are scared about starting a blog?

I don't think I was scared - I was blissfully clueless. I didn't know how much blogging entailed, or how much work it could be if you want to build your presence. I think that was a good thing, I just wrote, published, met other bloggers and learnt along the way.

Just start blogging, read some free guides and make some blogging friends. You will learn everything you need to as you go - just never forget why you started! Enjoy yourself!
